Study visit of Lao delegation under I95 UN project in Thailand

During 30 May – 3 June 2011, a group of Lao officers took a study program on the Development of the National Drug Law Enforcement Strategy, Lao I95, UNODC Project in Thailand. The visit program was designed to expose and share about expertise and lesson-learned of Royal Thai Narcotics Control in corporate with Juridical system to Lao representatives. 12 Lao officers from Ministry of Public Security, Office of the Supreme People's Prosecutor, People's Supreme Court, Ministry of Justice, Ministry of Health, and Lao National Commission for Drug Control and Supervision, led by Pol. Maj. Saly Phouthavong, Deputy Chief of Drug Investigation Unit. The field excursion also revealed financial investigations and techniques on illicit drugs syndicate and related crimes business as well as all legal proceeding and measures countering their money laundering complied by all Royal Thai concerned authorities. The group was warmly welcomed by Ms. Sureeprapha Trivej, Secretary-General, NCB, on a presentation on national narcotics control in Thailand at the ONCB on May 30, 2011.
