On March 30, 2010, the ONCB hosted the meeting of the upper Mekong Basin Drug Law Enforcement Officers from China, Lao PDR, Myanmar and Thailand in Chiang Rai Province. As the increasingly alarming threat of drug trafficking activities in the Mekong River, numbers of Myanmar and Chinese patrol officers were ambushed and killed on their duties. Whereas, the forum was to discuss and seek for the mutual cooperation and measures among the 4 countries as to counter against all related organized crimes involving these agony massacres.
