Laotian official tour on drugs treatment and rehabilitation

During 12-16 August 2005, a group of Laotian senior officials led by Mr. Linthong Phetsavan, head of the permanent secretariat of LCDC (Lao National Commission for Drug Control and Supervision), had an official tour on drugs treatment and rehabilitation in Thailand. The group has visited Thanyarak Institute in Pathumthani Province and the Wiwatponlamuang Programme, public drugs treatment and rehabilitation programme conducting by military, at Sattahip Naval Station in Chon Buri Province. The tour was aimed to gain knowledge and experiences back to run Thai – Laos Drug Treatment and Rehabilitation Centre in Champassak Province. The Centre is subjected to operate by the end of this year. On this occasion, Mr. Linthong also paid a courtesy call on Police General Chidchai Vanasatidya, Minister of Ministry of Justice in Bangkok.
