The group of drug liaisons leaded by Mr. William J. Snipes, DEA Regional Director for East Asia and Chairman of Foreign Anti-Narcotics Community, paid a courtesy call on Pol.Lt.Gen. Krisna Polananta, Secretary-General, NCB at ONCB. FANC and ONCB have long been cooperating on narcotic control and brought fruitful result in many arrests of international drug cases.

Mr. Vladimir V. Pronin, Consul of the Embassy of Russian Federation met Pol.Maj.Gen.Somchart Sawangnetr, Deputy Secretary-General of the Narcotics Control Board to discuss about the draft MOU between the Government of Thailand and Government of the Russian Federation on Cooperation in Combating Illicit Traffic in and Abuse of Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances and Diversion of Precursor and Essential Chemical at the ONCB. The meeting was concluded with the fruitful recommendations and suggestions. Both sides agreed in principle that the MOU should be finalized as soon as possible since it would be a first good step for mutual cooperation in fighting against drug menace in the future.

Mrs. Marion Casper-Merk, Vice Minister, Federal Ministry of Health and Social Security and Special Representative of Federal Republic of Germany visited the Office of the Narcotics Control Board. H.E. Mrs. Marion Casper-Merk and her delegation were warmly welcomed by Pol.Lt.Gen. Krisna Polananta, Secretary-General, NCB along with ONCB executive officials.
