August 12-16

a group of Laotian senior officials led by Mr. Linthong Phetsavan, head of the permanent secretariat of LCDC (Lao National Commission for Drug Control and Supervision), had an official tour on drugs treatment and rehabilitation in Thailand. The group has visited Thanyarak Institute in Pathumthani Province and the Wiwatponlamuang Programme, public drugs treatment and rehabilitation programme conducting by military, at Sattahip Naval Station in Chon Buri Province. The tour was aimed to gain knowledge and experiences back to run Thai – Laos Drug Treatment and Rehabilitation Centre in Champassak Province. The Centre is subjected to operate by the end of this year. On this occasion, Mr. Linthong also paid a courtesy call on Police General Chidchai Vanasatidya, Minister of Ministry of Justice in Bangkok.

August 10, 2005, H.E. Mr. Emomali Rahmonov received presentations on Drugs Control in Thailand and the Royal Project on alternative development programmes by ONCB and the Mae Fah Luang Foundation. (See more details in Tajikistan President Official Visit in Thailand)



August 5-7

Lt.Gen. Rustam Nazarov, director of Drug Control Agency, Tajikistan, has experienced and learned plenty of drugs control works in Thailand. Lt. Nazarov visited Thanyarak Institute, the famous drugs treatment and rehabilitation centre in Pathumthani Province, Chiang Rai Provincial Police, Thailand border area, and Doi Tung Development Project, in Chiang Rai Province.

Kazakh delegation came over for discussion on drafted MOU for narcotics control cooperation. (click for more details)


February 21

H.E. Mr. Habibullah Qaderi, Minister of Counter Narcotics, Afghanistan, and Mr. Steve Shaulis, Exceutive Director of CADG (Central Asia Development Group) - an Afghanistan-based non-governmental organization, paid a courtesy call on H.E. Mr. Phongthep Thepkanjana - Ministry of Justice, Minister (at that moment). Later on, Police Major General Somchart Sawangnetr, Deputy Secretary-General, NCB, has welcomed H.E. Qaderi and party at the ONCB.

A group of 9 officers from Lao PDR led by H.E. Mr. Kyden Thammavong, Vice-chairman of Lao National Commission for Drug Control and Supervision made an official visit to the ONCB. The group was on their drug treatment and rehabilitation study trip in Thailand during February 14 – 17, 2005.

Participants of FEALAC (Forum for East Asia-Latin America Cooperation) Workshop from 16 countries made an official visit to the ONCB. The Workshop on Drugs Control Cooperation for FEALAC Countries had been conducted in Thailand during 17-28 January 2005 by ONCB.
